This Sunday 4 July marked the beginning of NAIDOC Week 2021, an opportunity to celebrate the knowledge, culture and achievements of First Nations People.  This year’s theme is Heal Country, heal our nation – which, in the context of the pandemic, climate change, bushfires and flooding, has a particular relevance for all Australians.

Healing Country means embracing First Nation’s cultural knowledge and understanding of Country as part of Australia’s national heritage. Advocating for greater management, involvement, and empowerment of Indigenous peoples to protect country, and resolving the historical injustices which continue to impact the lives of First Nations People
The Bendigo NAIDOC committee and community organisations have worked hard through this period of uncertainty to put together an impressive calendar of events.  We encourage you to get along to some of the events listed in the brochure.
